PUTTING A BABY DOWN ON THE FLOOR
Putting an infant down on the floor – a technique for people with tetraplegia.
The baby sits on the parent’s lap, looking forward. The parent holds the baby with both hands under the arms and moves the baby forward until the baby slides down in front of the wheelchair. At the same time the parent supports himself with one forearm on his lap in order not to lose his balance. Then he lifts the baby so that the baby ends up in front of him (photo 2), he bends forward and places the baby on the footplate (photo 3). He changes his grip so he is holding the baby by the thighs and puts the baby on the floor (photo 4).
